LAMES (Laboratory for Structural Monitoring, Modelling and Experimentation) is located on the campus of Gustave Eiffel University in Nantes, successor to IFSTTAR.

It conducts cutting-edge research on the mechanical behaviour, monitoring and management of transport infrastructure: roads, railways, airport runways and industrial platforms.

Through approaches combining large-scale experimentation, advanced instrumentation and digital modelling, LAMES contributes to improving the durability, performance and resilience of infrastructure, promoting safer and more sustainable mobility.
