Laboratory for Auscultation, Modelling and Experimentation of Transport Infrastructures
Transport and civil engineering infrastructures
Institution
Université Gustave Eiffel
French university dedicated to sustainable cities and territories, born in 2020 from the merger of IFSTTAR and the Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée.
Parent department
Département MAST
Materials and Structures — bringing together 7 laboratories specialised in applied research on materials, structures and civil engineering infrastructures.
Laboratory · Nantes
LAMES
The reference laboratory for the study of infrastructure durability: from design to management.
Mission
More durable and resilient infrastructures
LAMES develops cutting-edge research on transport infrastructures, combining large-scale experimentation, advanced instrumentation and numerical modelling. The goal: to improve the durability, performance and resilience of transport and civil engineering infrastructures.
With equipment unique in France — including the FABAC machines and the fatigue carousel — the laboratory can simulate years of traffic in just a few months, producing essential data for infrastructure design and maintenance.
