FABAC machines
LAMES — Testing Equipment
The FABAC Machines
The LAMES laboratory is equipped with two FABAC machines — compact traffic simulators designed to replicate real heavy-vehicle axle loads on small-scale test slabs at low speed. Complementary to the circular test track, these machines allow smaller-scale testing of the traffic resistance of road structures and pavements, as well as the evaluation of systems integrated into road surfaces (tram rails, electric roads) and other road infrastructure elements.
Overview
Compact and versatile simulators
Easily relocated using a gantry crane, the FABAC (Fatigue on Continuously Reinforced Concrete) machines offer great flexibility for the development and refinement of innovative techniques.
They can be used outdoors or inside a test hall, where temperature can be precisely regulated and controlled, ensuring constant and reproducible experimental conditions.
